Educational Objectives
As a result of participating in this educational program, participants will be able to:
• Describe the strengths and weaknesses of population based cohort studies
• Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of hospital registry based cohort studies
• Explain the characteristics of the Childhood Cancer Survivor Study cohort
• Describe the characteristics of the British Childhood Cancer Survivor Study cohort
• Discuss the characteristics of the Late Effects of Childhood Cancer task force of the Dutch Childhood Oncology Group (DCOG-LATER) cohort
• Explain the characteristics of the Adult Life after Childhood Cancer in Scandinavia (ALiCCS) cohort
• Describe the development and validation of guidelines
• Explain the development and maintenance of the Children’s Oncology Group Long-term Follow-up Guidelines for Survivors of Childhood, Adolescent, and Young Adult Cancers
• Discuss the development and maintenance of the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network Long-Term Follow-Up Care for Survivors of Childhood Cancer
• Describe the development and maintenance of the Dutch Long-term Follow-Up Guidelines
• Discuss reconciliation of various guidelines through the International Late Effects of Childhood Cancer Guideline Harmonization Group
Participants
Participants will include, but are not limited to, US and international practitioners involved in the interdisciplinary fields of medicine, surgery, pediatric hematology/oncology, radiation oncology, counseling, clinical research and other allied health care professionals
